Welcome to the Surfing Heritage TV Channel
Our TV Channel is an extension of our effort to preserve, present and promote surfing’s heritage for the appreciation and education of current and future generations. It is easy to get involved in sharing your own history via the channel. The directions below will get you on your way.

Video submission guidelines:
- You must have an active YouTube Account and be familiar with uploading videos to YouTube. If you are new to uploading videos to YouTube, please visit:
http://www.google.com/support/youtube/ - Videos must be smaller than 2GB in size, in an acceptable file format, and less than 15 minutes. If you have any questions on YouTube’s upload guidelines, please visit:
http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=57924 - Videos should be free of advertising or other self-promotion within the video. Videos can have overlays and credits, but not ads for other products and services. The idea of the channel is for you to share interesting aspects surfing, your community, club, mentors and not for advertising of products and/or services.
- Video content must be your “own” work. You are not allowed to submit someone else’s copyrighted material. Be mindful of music rights and make sure that you have the permission of others that may appear in your video.
- Please add any pertinent information regarding the video, such as description, location, names, situation and the date.
- Upload your video to your YouTube Account
- Once uploaded, copy the URL for your YouTube video. You will need this URL for the next step.
- Send an e-mail to “SHFMedia@surfingheritage.org” with the subject line “YouTube Video Submission”.
- In the body of the e-mail, please make sure to include the following information:
- The full YouTube Video URL
- Your name and e-mail address
- The description, location and date the video was taken
- You may also want to include names or other pertinent information
- Once submitted Surfing Heritage Foundation has the right to remove the video if content is deemed inappropriate for the channel.
