Wow and Thank You!!! $60,000 raised for Surfing Heritage Foundation!!!

photo: Sharon Marshall

A beautiful blend of Southern California Car and Surf Culture, this hand-painted 1963 220 American Rambler comes from the estate of Mike Marshall by way of the Surfing Heritage Foundation. Mike and his car were both well-known fixtures of the local surf community (Mike apprenticed with Joe Quigg and later became one of the main shapers at Harbour Surfboards, before creating his own line of Marshall boards).

Watching this all happen before my eyes, I still can't believe what went down last Sunday at the car auction! When the bidding hit $10,000, I thought, "Wow, grand slam!" I had no idea. $60,000 will go a long ways towards helping us continue in our mission to preserving surfing culture, as you all know, the economic down turn really had an effect on us and this boost comes at a very crucial time. —Barry Haun, SHF Creative Director

All proceeds from the auction of this car benefit Surfing Heritage directly, thanks to the generosity of Sharon and Jennifer Marshall and Barrett Jackson! See for yourself what took place: CLICK HERE
